PCAAE joins panel in association meetings webinar

On the invitation of the Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) and advisory group, GainingEdge, PCAAE, represented by its founder and CEO, Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta, joined as a panellist in an online discussion forum, “The Association Meetings Market and How it is Emerging from the Post-COVID Era” held on August 24, 2021. Fifty two (52) attendees from Macao and Southern China business events industry such as DMOs, CVBs, venues, hotels, meeting and event planners, and suppliers, participated in the event.

Most associations have been hit hard financially and are having to adapt to a new way of doing business and organising events. COVID-19 has changed how they select destinations and suppliers, the way they organise and promote their events, what type of support they are looking for, and how they manage risk.

The online session looked at how the association meetings industry has been impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic and how associations are responding. It also covered how service providers can approach the association sector when looking to bid for their conferences, what they are looking for in the destination, products and services.

The two other panellists were Alicia Yao, Managing Director, IME Consulting China and Belinda Moore, Managing Director, Strategic Membership Solutions Australia. The session was facilitated by Mike Williams, Senior Partner and Consultant, GainingEdge, Melbourne and event-managed by Nigel Brown, GainingEdge, Singapore.
