PCAAE conducts webinar on running sprint strategy sessions

PCAAE conducted a webinar on “Sprint Strategies: How to Engage your Members to Move your Organization Forward” on August 25, 2021 and attended by 25 local and overseas participants.

A sprint strategy session (SSS) is one that is focused (on a specific issue to be tackled, e.g. membership growth); structured (with an organized agenda and decisions made at the end); and short (one hour or so which can be incorporated during a Board meeting).

The featured speaker was Dot Miller, founder and CEO of ‘The Solution’, an association management company. Dot is also co-founder of the National Credentialing Institute and serves as the Mayor Pro Tem on the Arvada City Council. Dot has been honoured with the Denver Business Journal’s “Forty Under 40 Award”, the “Arvada Young Professionals Leadership Award”, the Denver Post Tomorrow’s “Most Influential Women in Colorado”, and “CEO-of-the-Year” of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry.

Dot provided her expertise and insights in delving deep into topics like, need for Sprint Strategies Session (SSS); strategic plan vs. business plan; sprint strategy timeline and sprint strategies surveys. For a more interactive participation, a 10-minute breakout session was formed to enable attendees to discuss.

This webinar is part of a series of monthly online learning sessions for association leaders and professionals, themed, “Pathways to Recovery” which aims to provide participants with insights from fellow association leaders as well as update them on current trends and practical tools to further improve their work in providing service to their members.
