“UAP’s Panganiban, PAA’s Baria share Board Members of the Year Award”

Sharing this year’s PCAAE ‘Association Board Member of the Year’ honors are: Mr. Arthur R. Baria, Immediate Past President & Board Member, Philippine Association of Agriculturists, Inc. and Architect Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr., National President, United Architects of the Philippines.

The Association Board Member of the Year 2019 Award was presented to Mr. Arthur R. Baria for his dynamic Board involvement that contributed significantly to the achievement of the organization’s mission and solidarity among its members.

During his term, he raised the bar of association governance excellence in PAA and led it to be the only accredited integrated professional organization (AIPO) in its field under the ambit of the Professional Regulation Commission.

He also initiated the establishment of 17 regional PAA chapters which have their own functioning set of officers and have a least one major activity each year and led the development of the team working on “The Philippine Agriculturists Bill” that will be submitted for legislation.

His passionate advocacy for inclusive development of agriculturists and “agriprenuers” in the whole agriculture value chain has been recognized by the Secretary of the Department of Agriculture who has invited him to serve as a member of its Technical Advisory Group.

With these achievements, Mr. Baria has demonstrated an outstanding service to the association community, to the practice of association good governance, and to the ideals and advocacies of the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE).

The Association Board Member of the Year 2019 Award was also presented to Architect Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr. for his untiring and selfless dedication in achieving UAP’s purpose and mission.

Under his watch, UAP was awarded as the “Most Outstanding Accredited Professional Organization” by the Professional Regulatory Commission and the “International Achievement Award 2019” by the European Business Assembly.

During his term, he successfully launched the highly-successful advocacy campaign, “For your Plans and Designs, Get an Architect” and in partnering with Manila Times in promoting the profession with this initiative.

Under his leadership, he institutionalized good governance and operational efficiency by instilling in the UAP Secretariat the value of service-orientation and financial solvency that enabled UAP to place Php20 million in time deposits. He was also instrumental in the establishment of 10 new chapters in his first year as National President.

With these achievements, Architect Panganiban has thus demonstrated outstanding service to the association community, to the practice of association good governance, and to the ideals and advocacies of the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE).

Both Mr. Baria and Arch. Panganiban, Jr. were honored with these awards during the ‘Ang Susi’ Awards 2019 & Gala Dinner held last November 27, 2019 in conjunction with the PCAAE’s Associations Summit 7.

Congratulations to Mr. Baria and Arch. Panganiban, Jr.!
