PCAAE meets with PRC, explores professional accreditation of association personnel

PCAAE Founder & CEO Octavio B. Peralta met with PRC officers on February 8, 2019 at the PRC headquarters to explore the possibility of PRC accrediting as professionals those full-time paid officers and staff working in associations here in the country and those entering the association sector in the future. Mr. Peralta met with Atty. Lovelika T. Bautista, Chief of PRB Secretariat Division, Atty. Eugenio L. Riego II, Officer-in-Charge Director of Legal Service, and Atty. Maria Liza M. Hernandez, Officer-in-Charge Director of the Regulation Office and Chief of the Continuing Professional Development Division and discussed the process of accreditation and eventual government regulation of the profession under the PRC. For the time being, PCAAE self-accredits those currently working in associations here through its Certified Professional Association Executives (CPAE) program but envisions that association managers and staff (collectively called, “association executives” similar to their counterparts in other countries), in due course, can have a recognized profession and a career in the association sector.
