PCAAE Association Board Members of the Year: ASKI’s Rolando B. Victoria and PRA’s Atty. Paul A. Angelo

Sharing this year’s PCAAE “Association Board Member of Year” honors are Mr. Rolando B. Victoria and Atty. Paul A. Angelo of the ASKI Foundation and the Philippine Retailers Association (PRA), respectively.

Mr. Victoria, Board Adviser of ASKI Foundation (Alalay sa Kaunlaran), was cited for his vibrant leadership and selfless service which contributed significantly to the achievement of the organization’s mission as well as solidarity among its members. Under his watch, ASKI has evolved into an association centered on faith and genuine compassion for people. Among his initiatives and programs in ASKI during his term include environmental-related projects and the provision of decent toilets and a source of potable water for the communities, concerns that Mr. Victoria feels are often overlooked. Much more than giving monetary aid, ASKI has empowered its clients by providing them scholarship programs, and aided them with financial assistance and school supplies through its partnership with TESDA and the Department of Education.

Atty. Paul Angelo, Chairman of PRA, was recognized for his visionary and strategic leadership that has helped the PRA embody its role as the “pulse and voice of the retail industry.” After dedicating 20 years to the Association, Atty. Paul has pushed for legislation that that promotes Philippine retailers, and has tackled issues such as shortened work hours, sidewalk vending, music copyright, and liberalization of retail trade.

When he was PRA President, he focused on expanding the Association’s international reach by linking up with other trade organizations in Southeast Asia and other regions of the world, notably the International Retail Association Executives (FIRAE) and the Federation of Asia Pacific Retailers Associations (FAPRA). As one of PRA’s longest-staying members, Atty. Santos believes that his work remains in progress and envisions, aside from others, to improve fellowship and unity among Philippine retailers around the world.

Both Mr. Victoria and Atty. Santos received their awards honored during the “Ang Susi” Awards 2018 & Gala Dinner held on November 23, 2018 in conjunction with the PCAAE’s Associations Summit 6 (please see separate story) at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in Subic, Zambales.

Congratulations to Atty. Santos and Mr. Victoria!
