PCAAE invited by DOT to MICE roadmap meeting, joins working committees

On the invitation of the Department of Tourism (DOT), PCAAE , represented by Chairperson Cora Conde of ADFIAP, Board Trustee Evelyn Salire of PRA, and Council Secretary Enrique Florencio, participated in the multi-sectoral meeting on the implementation of Meetings, Incentives, Conventions and Exhibitions (MICE) Roadmap which was developed by the DOT, DTI-BOI and PACEOS. DOT’s Undersecretary Benito C. Bengzon, Jr. chaired the meeting.

The roadmap, which was launched last January 18, 2018, is now on its pre-implementation phase. As identified in the priority action plan, there is a need to create a technical working group (TWG) to oversee and steer the implementation of the roadmap and provide relevant information to concerned agencies and organizations.

To mobilize the creation of the TWG, DOT identified member-agencies and solicited their inputs and commitments to volunteer in the four major areas of concern of MICE, namely; (1) policy and governance (2) infrastructure (3) human resource and (4) marketing. PCAAE joined as a member of the policy and governance, human resource, and marketing working committees.

The Department of Tourism ( http://web.tourism.gov.ph/) is the executive department of the Philippine government responsible for the regulation of the Philippine tourism industry and the promotion of the Philippines as a MICE and tourist destination.
