PCAAE stays on as APFAO Secretariat

The Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) will remain the secretariat of the Asia Pacific Federation of Association Organizations (APFAO). This was the consensus at APFAO’s second general assembly meeting held in Seoul, Korea at the start of the 2017 ASAE Great Ideas Global Association Management Conference Asia-Pacific on March 22-24, 2017. As secretariat, PCAAE will coordinate APFAO’s activities and manage its initial programs such as the APFAO website and enewsletter.

The meeting, which was chaired by PCAAE CEO and Founder, Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta, was hosted by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and was convened at the Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel at 1:00 p.m. on March 22, 2017. It was attended by all four APFAO founding members namely, the Associations Forum, the Australasian Society of Association Executives (AuSAE), the Korean Society of Association Executives (KSAE) and the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE). They were joined by representatives from the ASAE, ICCA as well as tourism boards and convention and visitor bureaus from Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan and Singapore.

The meeting attendees agreed to continue moving the APFAO forward, expand its membership to include emerging national societies of association executives as well as national federations whose members are associations, increase visibility through publications, and enhance partnerships with like-minded and supportive organizations.

APFAO www.apfao.org is a regional network of national “associations of associations” established on March 24, 2015 at the 2015 ASAE Great Ideas Global Association Management Conference Asia-Pacific held in Hong Kong.
