PCAAE conducts association management & governance sessions for PMA

On invitation by the PCAAE members of the Philippine Marketing Association (PMA) as part of their strategy meeting on January 3-4, 2017, PCAAE CEO Octavio ‘Bobby’ Peralta and Council Secretary Enrique ‘Boyet’ Florencio conducted an association management training session for the PMA staff on the first day and a governance session for the PMA Board, committee members and staff on the second day.

For the association management session, the topics covered include the role and relationships of association stakeholders (members, Board and staff) in the governance structure, exemplary attributes of the management (or secretariat) staff, the distinct differences between association management and corporate management, measures of remarkable associations and why associations fail.

The governance session included the principles and practices of good governance, the role and duties of the Board, essential governance documents, and governance leadership, structure and stakeholder relationships.
