PCAAE speaks at UIA Asia-Pacific Roundtable 2016 in Busan

busan-2On invitation by the Brussels-based Union of International Associations (UIA), the PCAAE, represented by its President & CEO, Octavio B. Peralta, handled a session on “Race to Relevance: Associations in the Age of Disruption” at the UIA Asia-Pacific Roundtable 2016 held on September 28-29, 2016 at the Paradise Hotel in Busan, South Korea. The roundtable was attended by over 100 delegates from about 80 organizations in 20 countries.

Mr. Peralta was also part of a panel that discussed the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its impact on associations. In another session, he also introduced the Asia-Pacific Federation of Association Organizations (APFAO) and how it was initiated by the PCAAE during the inaugural Great Ideas Conference on Association Management organized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) in Hong Kong in March 2015.

The UIA Asia-Pacific Roundtable promotes and facilitates the work of international associations by providing learning and networking opportunities. This year’s event was hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) in cooperation with the Busan Tourism Organization (BTO).
