PCAAE conducts CPAE seminar on events management and fund raising

April 21The Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) conducted a seminar on “Events Management & Fund-Raising on April 21, 2016 at the Best Western Plus Antel Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila, with fifty (50) attending PCAAE members who have earned additional credits under the Certified Professional Association Executive (CPAE) programme.

The CPAE programme was developed by PCAAE to further professionalize association governance and management in the country and offers excellent career opportunities and growth for those already working or those considering to work in the association sector that includes Board members, officers, staff and professionals.

The seminar covered five (5) learning sessions which tackled strategies, techniques, and issues concerning events management and fund-raising. The first session discussed Meetings, Incentives, Conferences & Exhibitions (M.I.C.E.), its benefits to the country and to national and local associations. The second session covered incentives and travels, their definitions and values as a tool for associations to thrive. It also dissected the types of incentives, such as incentive programs, travel incentives, and values of incentives travels. The third session tackled exhibitions and its definition, types of exhibitions, and the component of exhibitions such as its objective, target audience, budget, pricing, schedule, venue, event supplier, format and the “wow” factor. It also shared some precautions in mounting an exhibitions and gave a hints on the personal traits of a good event planner. The fourth session covered the definition of event management and the types of events such as team building event, dinner meetings, press conferences, networking events, products launches, themed parties, award ceremonies, social functions, charity functions, VIP events, concerts, incentive events, incentive travels, trade fairs & exhibitions, sports, and tourism events. It also discussed the ‘do’s and dont’s’ in running these events. The last session highlighted events as a fund-raising tool and shared the how to’s in generating funds through sponsorships as well as fund-raising activities.

Clemente, Chairman & President, Rajah Travel Corporation; Mr. Joel Pascual, Vice President, PACEOS & President, PEPGroup; Mr. Roberto Garcia, Deputy General Manager, Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), and Mr. Joel Magpantay, General Manager, Creative Foire Pro. Inc.

The next CPAE seminar will be on May 25, 2016.
