The CPAE program was developed by PCAAE to further professionalize association governance and management in the country and offers excellent career opportunities and growth for those already working or those considering to work in the association sector that includes Board members, officers, staff and professionals.

William Wadsworth, a retired British columnist and newspaper editor and current editor of MICE News Philippines, handled the morning session entitled, “The Journalist’s Approach to Making Your Communications Work”. Mr. Wadsworth discussed the advantages for key officers of associations to have a profound knowledge about their organizations, especially those who are dealing with the media. He highlighted the importance of developing a good communication plan to get the association’s messages across. Mr. Wadsworth also relayed to the participants how they can identify a journalist, keeping them informed with simple facts, and building press relations. He showed how a press desk can be set up and monitored to reflect the consensus of the association and not the individual in it and then generate a media presence from zero.
