PCAAE runs CPAE course on legal & regulatory aspects, training program cycle

legal-aspectsThe Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE) conducted a three-part seminar-workshop on “Laws Governing Associations”, “Regulatory Compliance,” and Training Program Cycle” on September 22, 2016 at the Best Western Plus Antel Hotel in Makati City, Metro Manila. The event, which was attended by 20 PCAAE members, was the final course offering for the year under the first batch of the CPAE.

The Certified Professional Association Executive (CPAE) program was developed by PCAAE to further professionalize association governance and management in the country and offers excellent career opportunities and growth for those already working or those considering to work in the association sector that includes Board members, officers, staff and professionals.

The first session covered the legal framework under which associations operate in the country, highlighting the three key legal documents needed, the charter or constitution, the article of incorporation and bylaws. The second session covered the regulatory framework and documentary reportorial compliance that associations must undertake under the Securities and Exchange Commission. The third sessions focused on the complete cycle of a training program. It discussed topics on the basic training principle, objectives of training program, pedagogy of learning approach, training needs analysis (TNA), methods of needs assessment, lesson planning, basic methods of teaching, and other important aspects in developing a successful training program.

The resource persons, respectively, who shared their expertise in this event were Atty. Julio P. G. Bucoy, Corporate Secretary, CFA Society of the Philippines, Atty. Teresita J. Herbosa, Chairperson, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Ms. Sonia Aquino, Board of Trustee, UP Institute for Small-Scale industries- SERDEF.
