PCAAE adopts name change, stays focused on purpose

PCAAE_1In its 3rd General Council of Members Meeting held on December 4, 2015 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), members have ratified the change of name of the PCAAE from Philippine Council for the Advancement of Association Executives to Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives.

The change will not however affect the acronym of PCAAE and, more importantly, its focus of professionalizing governance and management in associations and other membership organizations in the country.

This strategic name change at this early stage of PCAAE’S growth is in response to the realities of the structure and dynamics of associations here in the Philippines as well as to the emerging trend in PCAAE’s counterparts around the world. This shift will afford PCAAE to be more inclusive and be able to recruit more members not only from the present corps of association executives but also from association board members, staff and those who would like to build a career as an association professional.

PCAAE is currently in the process of effecting this change in all its documentary and registration requirements. In the meantime, the PCAAE is also developing new programming and messaging materials to meet this new challenge into the future.
