PCAAE conducts technology session under the CPAE programme

August 12As part of the series of learning sessions towards achieving the title, “Certified Professional Association Executive” (CPAE), the Philippine Council for the Advancement of Association Executives (PCAAE) www.pcaae.org conducted its 2nd seminar under the CPAE programme on August 12, 2015 at the NetSuite premises in Makati City. The event was attended by 46 members of the PCAAE who got their CPAE credits after the event.

The CPAE program was developed to further professionalize association governance and management in the country and offers excellent career opportunities and growth for those already working or those considering to work in the association sector that includes Board members, officers, staff and professionals.

The first part of the session was on “Social Media Application for Associations” where the speaker, Ms. Janette C. Toral, site owner of DigitalFilipino.com and e-commerce advocate, gave an overview of the internet evolution, the different types of media, including social media, and the need for associations to have their online presence and e-commerce systems to better serve their members. In addition, Ms. Toral discussed qualities of a sought-after association and how to become an online influencer using the different social media.

The following part covered “Cloud Technology for Non-Profits/Hands-on Exercises and NetSuite’s “Suite Donation Program” conducted by Mr. Mel Vargas and Joane Pacho of NetSuite Philippines, Inc. who respectively covered cloud technology, its security and how it can help non-profits to improve their businesses management processes and the donation program that provides free online business management software to eligible non-profit organizations.

The final part presented the “Cloud Software Implementation for Non-Profits Associations” delivered by Mr. Victor “Vj” Africa, CEO of PGE Solutions, together with representatives from two non-profits – Virlanie Foundation Philippines and American Chamber Foundation, Inc. – as ‘live’ case studies on the subject.
